Timothy A. Stephenson, ChFC®, CLU®, CASL®
Professional Fiduciary
Tim Stephenson has been serving retirees in a variety of roles throughout his career, but has focused on the needs of retirees in Southwest Florida since 2007. He holds certifications as a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Advisor in Senior Living (CASL), and has significant experience and credentials as a financial planner. His background includes years working with a major financial services firm before turning to the not-for-profit sector in 1995.
He came to Southwest Florida to serve the needs of retirees and their families as a leader in the largest Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in the state of Florida and subsequently established Southwest Florida Advocates in order to expand those services to the greater community.
A true specialist in senior living, Tim serves as Professional Guardian, Trustee, Personal Representative, Attorney-in-Fact, and he understands the special financial planning needs of retirees. Tim’s technical skills in financial services, combined with his integrity, sensitivity and a deep personal commitment to his clients, ensure you will receive the highest level of service. A person who attends to the details, your relationship with Tim and Southwest Florida Advocates will give you confidence in your time of need.
Glenda L. Stephenson, M.A.
Glenda joined Southwest Florida Advocates in April 2015. Though her undergrad training was in the area of music education, her work experience includes a variety of administrative roles. In July of 2015, she completed her master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. Glenda enjoys using her training and skills to help Southwest Florida Advocates in the area of business development and loves working alongside Tim to care for and serve clients. In addition to her academic credentials and work experience, she is mom to three now-grown children and relishes being grandma to ten wonderful grandchildren.

Lee A. Stephenson, M.A.
Professional Fiduciary
A Florida resident since 2015, Lee and his wife, Melissa, come to the team with a rich background as a local church pastor. Lee is well acquainted with the challenges of aging and is passionate about the challenges families face during life’s transitions. Lee has completed the requirements to serve as a Florida registered Professional Guardian.
An experienced consultant and nonprofit executive, Lee brings extensive leadership experience in building teams to serve those with great need. In addition to bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bethel University, Lee holds multiple executive certifications from the University of Notre Dame.
A true sports enthusiast, Lee and his family share a passion for athletics. As a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, he enjoys working with local athletes and weekend warriors in his free time. Lee’s training through the National Academy of Sports Medicine truly transfers to the special physical and nutritional needs of senior adults.
Melissa J. Stephenson
Melissa Stephenson joined the Southwest Florida Advocates team part-time in 2020. Having earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Melissa is experienced in handling the day-to-day financial needs of seniors. Melissa is a physical education teacher in the local school district.
Lee and Melissa’s three children are actively involved in local sports including competitive swimming and softball.
